What we’re looking for: We are looking for a constructive and interactive discussion based on the SDG/ Laudato Si’ topic of zero hunger. Ridding the world of the tragic reality of hunger, according to the United Nations, requires all—governments and citizens alike—to work together and understand the need to end all hunger-related issues, including food insecurity and malnutrition. The Vatican—more specifically, Pope Francis—expresses concern on this issue in the encyclical Laudato Si’ by stating, “…approximately a third of all food produced is discarded, and ‘whenever food is thrown out it is as if it were stolen from the table of the poor.’” Please add to the discussion of zero hunger’s relevance to both the UN and the Vatican, as seen in Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, and highlight the parallels behind the significance of achieving no hunger for each movement. Videos, websites, photos, articles, research documents, and all other forms of media are encouraged.
