What we’re looking for: We are looking for a constructive and interactive discussion based on the SDG/ Laudato Si’ topic of no poverty. The United Nations recognizes that eradicating poverty in all of its forms is a difficult task and several issues must be addressed in order to achieve this, such as increasing incomes, relieve suffering and strengthen the resilience of those still living in poverty, as well as expanding the platform for social protection programs and decreasing disease risk for impoverished areas. Pope Francis also talks about poverty, highlighting the fact that humans “fail to see that some are mired in desperate and degrading poverty,” in his encyclical Laudato Si’. Please add to the discussion of celebrating the parallels between the UN’s SDGs and Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ by bringing to light what the UN and Pope Francis says about no poverty through different forms of media (videos, photos, websites, etc.), relevant research documents, and anything else you may feel may add to the conversation.
